'...we are traumatized and stupidly imprinted in early childhood and have to spend the rest of our lives trying to overcome these infantile mental fixations. And we never ever fully succeed in this endeavor.'
Comics are great: the exaggerated gesture, violence and sexuality, the way they pack tons of narrative and emotional information into a limited space. Familiar Faces is yet another attempt to figure out who I was and how that may or may not relate to who I am now. The animal avatars of Familiar Faces can allow my Dick and Jane-ish kids to really act out.
